Lori Field, LCSW

Approach
Life can feel like a constant juggling act—managing deadlines, striving for personal goals, and balancing the needs of work and family. For those of us living with ADHD, this can come with an extra layer of challenge.

Words like “lazy,” “inattentive,” or “indecisive” can leave lasting marks, especially when they become labels attached to ADHD. To avoid judgment and negative stereotypes, many people push themselves to be perfect—only to find that the pressure makes decisions harder and mistakes more frequent. It's a frustrating cycle, but it’s not unbreakable.

My therapeutic approach is two-fold.
First, I focus on the practical side: supporting the development of executive functioning skills such as time management, organization, study/work habits, and maintaining a sustainable work-life balance.

Second—and equally important—I address the emotional impact of ADHD, which is so often overlooked. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we explore the beliefs you hold about yourself and build a toolbox of strategies for managing overwhelming emotions.

I also integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills—mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness—which are powerful tools for navigating the emotional ups and downs that can come with ADHD.

Above all, I offer a warm, supportive environment where you can explore change at your own pace. Together, we’ll challenge the narratives that no longer serve you and reconnect with your natural strengths, resilience, and sense of self.
